The purpose of Fennell Story Insights is to promote understanding of markets, market segmentation, and the development of products based on prospect analysis. This approach is based on the work of Geraldine Fennell, published between 1975 and 2005.
We seek to further develop Dr. Fennell's models, to disseminate those in academia, industry, and education, and to promote the application of her work to academic research, teaching, and industry.
Dr. Geraldine Fennell had an extensive career in academia and industry. You can see more about her here. She developed new perspectives on understanding consumer decision-making. She endowed a foundation, The Carolan Research Institute (CRI), to carry on her work.
John Story founded Fennell Story Insights in 2022, funded by CRI. Dr. Story is an associate professor of marketing at the University of St. Thomas, Houston. He also has extensive industry experience, particularly in the realm of brand relationships.

Dr. Robert "Bob" Hoover is the sole remaining director of the Carolan Research Institute and provides oversight and advising.
Our mission is also supported by a variety of researchers in the U. S. and abroad.
Fennell Story Insights was funded through an expenditure responsibility grant from the Carolan Research Institute (CRI), which was founded by Dr. Fennell to support research that applied and promoted her work.
